Your room. Your data.
Privacy Policy
MyVrPet is designed around local processing. Your room, your hands and your progress stay on your headset. The only things that leave it are Meta platform features (ownership check, achievements) and anonymous usage statistics that you can turn off.

01. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how AnimaScribe ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the MyVrPet application ("the App") on Meta Quest devices.
AnimaScribe, based in Poland (European Union), is the data controller for the processing described here. We comply with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The core design philosophy of MyVrPet is local processing. We do not run our own servers for the App, we do not ask you to create an account with us, and we do not collect your name, email address, location or contact details. The limited data that leaves your headset is described in sections 2.3 and 2.4. Section 3.3 covers this website.
02. Data Collection & Usage
2.1. Personal Data
We do not collect personal data such as your name, email address, phone number, precise location or IP address. We do not maintain a database of user profiles. If you contact us by email, we use your email address only to answer you.
2.2. Gameplay Data (stored on your headset)
Your progress is saved in a file on your headset in the App's private storage. It is not uploaded to us. It includes:
- pet statistics (Energy, Hunger, Happiness, cleanliness), Bond progress, discovered pet preferences and owned breeds and skins;
- Sparkles (in-game currency), owned items, daily reward and daily quest progress, and Guardian Mode best score;
- decorations you placed and the identifiers of the room surfaces they are attached to, so they reappear in the same place;
- your settings (volume, music, menu distance and estimated height used to place menus comfortably, and your analytics choice);
- your achievement progress (see 2.3);
- the date the App was first started and last played, and which onboarding milestones were already counted (see 2.4).
2.3. Meta Platform Features
The App uses the Meta Horizon Platform SDK for the following features. This communication happens between the App and Meta. We do not receive or store this data on any system of ours.
- Ownership check (entitlement): when the App starts, it asks Meta to confirm that the signed-in account owns MyVrPet. This protects the App from piracy.
- Achievements: when you unlock an achievement, the App reports it to Meta for the signed-in account, so it appears on your Meta profile according to your Meta privacy settings. The App does not read or store your Meta user ID or any other account identifier.
2.4. Anonymous Usage Analytics
To learn how players use MyVrPet and to improve it (for example, which tutorial steps are confusing, which activities people enjoy, and where the game runs slowly), the App sends anonymous gameplay statistics through Meta In-App Analytics, a service built into the Meta Quest platform.
What is sent. Each statistic is an event name and one number, for example "tutorial step completed, 42 seconds" or "Pounce Patrol round played". Events cover:
- session start and length, days since you first played and since your last session, and where in the game a session ended;
- tutorial and onboarding progress (steps shown, completed or skipped, and how long they took);
- which features, menus and activities are used and for how long (for example Pounce Patrol, fetch, feeding, grooming, Guardian Mode), and how much time the pet spends in each state;
- in-game economy: Sparkles earned and spent, items bought, daily rewards and quests completed;
- Bond and personality milestones, and Guardian Mode results (score, waves, chosen upgrades);
- settings changes (volume, music, menu distance, rounded estimated height);
- technical information: App version, average frame rate, error counts, room scan availability, and whether hands or controllers are used.
What is never sent. No name, email, user ID or account details; no room scans, camera images, positions or movement data; no audio; no free text. We do not combine these statistics with any other data to identify you.
Who sees it. Meta processes and stores these events as the platform provider. We only look at aggregated reports in Meta's developer dashboard. We do not use them for advertising and do not sell or share them.
Legal basis. Our legitimate interest in improving the App and fixing problems (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is anonymous and minimal, and you can object at any time by turning analytics off.
How to turn it off. Open the main menu (pinch with your palm facing you), go to Settings and set Analytics to Off. From that moment the App stops collecting and sending usage statistics. Statistics waiting to be sent are deleted. Your choice is saved and kept even if you reset your progress.
2.5. Mixed Reality & Sensor Data
Spatial Data (Scene Understanding): The App uses the Meta MR Utility Kit (MRUK) to detect physical surfaces (floors, walls, furniture) in your environment so the virtual pet can move around your room. This data is processed locally on your device in real time. We do not access, record or transmit your room scan. Analytics only records whether a room scan was available, never its contents.
Hand Tracking: Hand tracking lets you interact with the pet and menus. Hand movement is processed locally to trigger gameplay actions and is not recorded or transmitted. To place menus within comfortable reach, the App estimates your height from your head position once per session. This estimate is stored on your headset, and analytics only receives it rounded to whole centimetres, without any identifier.
Passthrough (Camera): The App displays your physical surroundings (Passthrough) to blend virtual content with the real world. This video feed is processed by the headset's operating system. The App has no access to raw camera images, and we do not capture, record or stream video.
Microphone (Audio): The App does not access, record or process audio from the device's microphone.
03. Third-Party Services
3.1. Meta Platforms
The App runs on the Meta Quest platform and uses the Meta Horizon Platform SDK for the ownership check, achievements and In-App Analytics described above. Meta processes this data according to its own policies. View Meta's Privacy Policy
3.2. Unity Technologies
This App is built with the Unity game engine. Unity Technologies may collect anonymous hardware and software statistics to improve its engine. View Unity's Privacy Policy
3.3. This Website (myvrpet.fun)
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. To see how many people visit and which pages they read, it uses Vercel Web Analytics. It does not use cookies. Each visit is counted with a temporary identifier (a hash created from the request), which Vercel discards after 24 hours, so visits are not tied to you, your IP address or other websites. For each page view it records the time, the page address, the referring website, your approximate location (country, region and city), and your browser, operating system and device type. We use this only in aggregate, based on our legitimate interest in improving the website. View Vercel's Web Analytics privacy information
3.4. YouTube (trailer)
The trailer on the homepage is hosted on YouTube. Until you press play, the page shows only a picture stored on this website and nothing is loaded from YouTube. When you press play, the video loads from YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and Google receives your IP address and browser details and may store data on your device to play the video. If you would rather not use the embedded player, the same link opens the video on youtube.com. View Google's Privacy Policy
Apart from the services listed in this section, neither the App nor this website uses any other analytics, advertising or tracking services.
04. Children’s Privacy
MyVrPet does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The usage statistics described in section 2.4 are anonymous and do not identify the player. Use of Meta Quest devices and accounts is subject to Meta's age requirements.
05. Your Rights & Data Retention (GDPR)
Gameplay data stays on your headset until you delete it. You can erase it at any time with Settings → Reset Progress in the App, or by uninstalling the App. Because it is stored in a standard JSON file, you can also copy it from the headset with a PC connection.
Usage analytics can be stopped at any time with Settings → Analytics → Off (right to object). Because the statistics contain no identifiers, we cannot link them to you and therefore cannot find or delete the statistics of an individual player. Meta keeps them according to its own retention policy.
Achievements and your Meta account are managed by Meta. You can control them through your Meta account and privacy settings.
You have the right to access, rectify, erase or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing and to data portability. To exercise these rights, or if you have any questions, contact us at the email below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Poland this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, uodo.gov.pl).
06. Requests from Public Authorities
We do not store player data on our own servers, so we hold almost no information that could be requested. If we ever receive a request for personal data from a public authority, we disclose data only when legally required and after reviewing the legality of the request. We challenge requests we consider unlawful, disclose only the minimum data necessary, and keep a record of each request and our response.
07. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy, for example when the App gains new features. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, inform you within the App.
