Short description (50 words)
MyVrPet is a cozy mixed reality virtual pet game for Meta Quest 3, 3S and Pro. Adopt a life-sized cat or Shiba Inu that lives in your real room, explores your furniture and remembers you. Pet, feed, brush, carry and play fetch with your bare hands, no controllers needed.
Medium description (150 words)
MyVrPet brings a virtual pet into your real home. Using passthrough and the Quest room scan, your cat or dog walks on your actual floor, hops onto the sofa, looks out of the window and curls up for naps in its favourite spot.
Everything is done with hand tracking. Stroke its fur and it leans into your hand, hold out a treat, throw a real ball for fetch, point at holographic critters for it to pounce on or scoop it up with both hands. Each pet has hidden likes, dislikes and a temperament of its own, and over days of play your relationship grows through a five-stage Bond Journey, from New Friend to Family.
Choose from seven cats and a Shiba Inu, decorate your room with plants, collect daily rewards and team up with your pet in two short arcade modes: Guardian Mode, where you swat pests toward your cat, and Pounce Patrol, a daily laser hunt.
Long description (300 words)
MyVrPet is a mixed reality virtual pet game for Meta Quest 3, 3S and Pro, made by AnimaScribe. Instead of a pet in a virtual scene, it gives you a life-sized cat or dog that lives in your own room.
The game uses the Quest's passthrough and room scan, so your pet knows where your floor, walls and furniture are. It wanders around on its own, follows you, jumps up onto the sofa, gazes out of the window and picks a favourite place to nap. Soft shadows ground it on your real floor.
MyVrPet is built for hand tracking. Your fingers have physical colliders, so you can stroke your pet's back, find the spot it loves most, feed it from your hand, throw a ball with a real throw, aim a laser at holographic critters for it to pounce on, brush its fur and carry it around with both hands. Push too hard and it takes a wobbly step to keep its balance.
Every pet is a little different. Each one rolls its own hidden likes and dislikes and two temperament traits, such as Playful, Lazy, Curious, Cuddly, Independent or Mischievous. Pets act on their own and come to ask when they want food, a brush, comfort or a game. Through the Bond Journey, your relationship grows over real days, from New Friend to Family, with greetings, rituals, reunions after time apart and dated memories of your firsts together.
Players can adopt seven cats (an orange tabby, a Birman, a Siamese kitten, a calico, a tuxedo cat, a realistic black shorthair and the glowing-eyed Spooky Cat) and a Shiba Inu. Two are free from the start; the rest are adopted with Sparkles earned through play, daily quests, a seven-day reward streak and two arcade modes: Guardian Mode, where the player swats pests and tosses them to their pet to finish, and Pounce Patrol, where the player dazzles holographic critters with a laser for the pet to pounce on. MyVrPet also includes plant decorations that stay in place in your room and twelve achievements.
