Pounce Patrol: a laser hunt for you and your cat

Holographic critters pop up all over your living room. Point at them with your finger, hold the laser on them until they're dazzled, and your cat does the pouncing. Pounce Patrol is a 90-second arcade round inside MyVrPet, with a new hunt every day.

How it plays

Point, dazzle, pounce

You never need perfect aim. The laser locks on for you, and your cat does the precise part.

  1. PointPoint your index finger at a critter. The laser snaps onto it, so a shaky hand or jittery tracking is fine.
  2. DazzleKeep the laser on it for a moment. The critter gets dazzled, slows down and drops low enough to catch.
  3. Pounce!Your cat leaps on it. Dazzled critters can't dodge, but one you didn't dazzle might slip away.

The critters

  • Moth (From the start). Flutters around the room. A good first catch.
  • Mouse (From the start). Runs away from your cat, so dazzle it to slow it down.
  • Beetle (Hunter Rank 2). Hides up on your real furniture. Point at it and your cat jumps up after it.
  • Golden Moth (Hunter Rank 3). Worth five times the points, but quick and very good at dodging.
  • Skittish Mouse (Hunter Rank 5). Nervous and fast. It dodges most pounces unless you dazzle it first.

Each critter only lives for a few seconds before it escapes, so keep moving. Critters appear around your real room, on the floor and on furniture your cat can reach.

Combos, stars and the final rush

Catch critters one after another within three seconds to build a combo up to x5. A critter that escapes breaks it. In the last 20 seconds the round shouts "Rush!" and critters arrive twice as fast. Your score earns up to three stars, and the star targets rise as your Hunter Rank grows.

A new hunt every day

Each day brings its own hunt with a twist, the same for the whole day, so you can keep trying to beat your daily best:

  • Mixed Hunt. A bit of everything.
  • Beetle Hill. Beetles all over your furniture.
  • Golden Hour. More golden moths than usual.
  • Mouse Rush. Mice everywhere.
  • Moth Night. A sky full of moths.

Hunter Rank

Stars earn rank experience, with a bonus for the first round you finish each day. Climb from Hunter Rank 1 to 10 to unlock new critters, new daily hunts and tougher star targets. Every rank-up pays a Sparkles bonus.

Rewards

Every round earns Sparkles for your stars and score, up to 30 a round and 100 a day. Pounce Patrol also has its own daily quests, and your rounds count toward your pet's Bond Journey.

First round? Quick training

Your first Pounce Patrol starts with a short training hunt: point at a moth, dazzle it, watch your cat pounce, then try a mouse, a combo and a beetle on the furniture. You can skip it any time.

High-score tips

  • Dazzle before your cat arrives. A dazzled critter never dodges, so a full dazzle is a guaranteed catch.
  • Keep the combo alive. Move straight on to the next critter. Points multiply up to x5.
  • Go for gold. A Golden Moth is worth five ordinary ones. Drop what you're doing when one appears.
  • Look up. Beetles sit on furniture and are easy to miss.
  • Save energy for the rush. The last 20 seconds are where big scores happen.
